Apple and HTC are in the midst of various legal battles regarding Google’s Android OS, and the device HTC produces that run Android, and now it would appear that Google has decided to step up and support HTC. Google has recently filed a document for HTC with the United States International Trade Commission, which states their position on the legal case between Apple and HTC
Apple is the largest seller of mobile computing devices in the U.S. Allowing this supplier to eliminate the competition from a fast-moving maverick competitor (HTC) could drive up prices, diminish service, decrease consumers’ access to the technology and reduce innovation. The case between Apple and HTC is expected to reach some sort of conclusion in December, as a ruling by the ITC is expected to be announced around the 6th of December.
