Over the weekend Google has needed to pull its Google Voice application from Apples iTunes store due to problems causing the Google Voice application to crash when being used with iOS 5 iPhones and devices. Even though the problems don’t seem to be affecting everyone in a deafening reports that Google Voice version 1.3.0.1771 when used on an iPhone 4 running iOS 5 is definitely causing some users problems. Google are currently working on a fix which will allow them to re-upload a new version of the Google Voice application and restore their service as soon as possible.
Vincent Paquet, Senior Product Manager for Google Voice confirmed that the app had been pulled, explaining “our last update of this week had a bug that caused the app to crash at sign in.” Unfortunately Google hasn’t as yet released any timescales for the completion of the new Google Voice update to correct these issues with iOS 5. But as always when we hear any more news we will keep you updated.
