A new Samsung feature-phone is about to make its debut in Europe via Samsung Germany, the clamshell E1190. Samsung, one of the handset makers that plan to reach number one spot for the highest amount of mobile phones delivered in 2011, by the end of the year, continues to build entry-level phones.
The upcoming E1190 is a basic clamshell that offers dual-band support and limited mobile phone functionality. Disproportionate and unimpressive, Samsung E1190 measures 88 x 44 x 18,9 mm. However, the clamshell can be considered a very light handset at only 71g (battery included). The phone comes with a small 1.43-inch CSTN display with 65k colors support and 128 x 128 pixels resolution. It appears that the phone is aimed at consumers who are looking for phones with basic features, but long-lasting battery. In addition, the clamshell is powered by a standard 800 mAh Li-Ion battery that should provide users with up to 8.6 hours of talk time or up to 570 hours of standby time.
No word on the phone's price tag or release date yet, but Samsung is likely to launch the phone in Germany in soon.
