The new Touch Life infotainment system unveiled this week by Toyota allows you to mirror your smartphone onto the systems 7 inch touchscreen providing you with access to the smartphone applications such as navigation, music and media while in your car. Toyota Touch Life has been designed to provide you with unprecedented smartphone-vehicle connectivity and will be available for the Toyota iQ city car towards the end of this year. Once connected your smartphone features can be easily accessed either using steering wheel-based controls or the large touchscreen surface in the centre of the car.
Apple iPhone users (running iOS 4 or later) can download the free “Application Launcher” app from the App Store to connect their devices with Toyota Touch Life, and Nokia smartphone owners can seamlessly connect their devices with Toyota Touch Life using the new industry standard connectivity protocol, MirrorLink. Toyota Touch Life is the latest addition to the Toyota Touch family of infotainment products aiming to offer a new level of in-car connectivity and multimedia experience to a wider range of consumers, and will be expanded to other devices as and when their manufactures take advantage of the MirrorLink technology.
