Motorola has been recently sending out emails from the Motorola Feedback Network inviting the owners of certain Motorola manufactured devices to allow their device to be included in an unnamed project. To be included, one must be a member of the Motorola Owner's Forum. With the latest email going out to those sporting a Motorola XOOM tablet, that makes three the number of devices being involved in a project recently, which includes the Motorola DROID BIONIC and the OG Motorola DROID.
the DROID is receiving some security updates with one anonymous source passing on to us the news that his model has been updated from Android 2.2.2 to Android 2.2.3. A firmware update is the likely result of all of this clandestine activity as Motorola usually sends out similar letters following a "soak test" used by the manufacturer to see how a limited number of a specific device responds to an update. When the dust settles, will we see Ice Cream Sandwich for the Motorola DROID BIONIC and the Motorola XOOM? And besides closing the security gaps on the OG DROID.
