There still has been no official word from Verizon, Google or Samsung about the impending release of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, but the rumors surrounding the launch are beginning to coalesce into believable information.
According to Computerworld, sources at Verizon have confirmed a number of key pieces of the puzzle. Apparently, the leak we saw over the holiday weekend about the on-contract price of the Nexus being $199 is also true. And, new information has confirmed both the release date and the pre-order dates.
One of the most helpful reports even came from a customer. Mike Peak apparently contacted Verizon to detail his anger over the handling of this release, after a number of e-mails, a Verizon rep called Mike and told him that pre-orders are set to begin Tuesday the 29th and the phone will be released on December 8th. Another Verizon rep from a local store even called Mike to let him know that he was already on the list for a Nexus and that they would hold it for him until two days after release.
We'd like to point out that we have tried to let readers know that while it may feel good to vent your anger into our comment threads, but a far more useful thing to do is vent your anger towards the source. We know that there are enough of you out there angry about the way Verizon and Google have handled this, and we always encourage you to voice your concerns to those responsible, because reps for those companies don't tend to inhabit our comment threads, and it's always better to have your concerns heard.
Now, we're off to compulsively refresh the Verizon Nexus page until pre-orders begin, so we can let you know as it happens.
