iOS 5.0.1 for iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch Released – Fix Battery Issues, Adds Mulitouch Gestures on iPad 1, and More

After releasing the beta version, and a series of customer tests for selected iOS device users, the Cupertino, California-based Apple has finally released the final version of the new iOS 5.0.1 to the public. The new iOS software update comes just a month the iPhone / iPad maker released the iOS 5.0, which includes more than 200 new features and boated as their best mobile phone operating system.

Unfortunately, the iOS 5 has brought numerous bugs, security issues, and serious battery problems on all iOS devices. And due to numerous of complaints coming from the million iOS device users, Apple has released an official statement addressing the issues and was forced to seed the beta version of the iOS 5.0.1 to their developers to fix the issue associated with the iOS 5 firmware. Now, numerous reports are suggesting the new software update already fixed the issues in iOS 5 firmware causing poor battery Australian iPhone 4S users, as well as add a new Multitasking gestures on the first gen iPad (activate it by navigating to Settings > General > Multitasking Gestures), and iCloud fix. You can update your iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch to iOS 5.01 by connecting your iOS device into your (Mac or PC) iTunes and hitting the Check for Updates button in the Info pane. But please note that this software update also fixes a recent bug found by security researcher Charlier Miller that could provide untethered Jailbreak on iOS 5. And by updating to iOS 5.0.1 software update, you will automatically lose the ability to get untethered jailbreak iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch, as well as jailbreak on the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S.

Update: MuscleNerd of the iPhone Dev Team has confirmed via Twitter that iOS jailbreakers and unlockers need to STAY AWAY from iOS 5.0.1 software update and wait for them for the status o the new jailbreaking and unlocking tool.
