Windows Phone SMS Security Flaw Discovered

According to a recent report by Win Rumors, a new security flaw has been discovered in Microsoft’s Windows Phone devices, and the flaw lets an attacker disable the messaging functions of your Windows Phone device.

The attacker sends an SMS to the Windows Phone device, the device then reboots and the messaging hub is disabled, and it would appear that the security flaw is not device specific and happens to Windows Phone 7.5 Mango devices. The video below shows the SMS attack in action, and as you can see from the video when the SMS message is received the device reboots itself, and the messaging hub is then disabled. You can find out more information about this SMS security bug on Windows Phone device over at Win Rumors, Microsoft has not released any information about the bug as yet.
