Pantech Vega LTE allows for gesture navigation to avoid finger grease

Remember that crazy Pantech Vega LTE phone which sports 800x1280 pixels on a 4.5" LCD display, that rings in 335ppi - the highest pixel density out there? Sadly, it is only sold in Korea for now, but it looks like the folks from Pantech embedded one more "i'm first" feature in the handset - gesture recognition.

They use the front-facing camera to read your hand movements, and the phone reacts accordingly. For now it supports the most common situations, like waving to answer a call, flip an e-book page, browse pictures in the Gallery, or change a song, after your hands have been buried deep in the KFC bucket.

The Pantech Vega LTE is powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S3 processor, and we know Qualcomm has been experimenting with gesture recognition after acquiring GestureTek. So has Texas Instruments, which is powering the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Droid RAZR, so hopefully we will see similar tech in other Android handsets soon.

The LTE Tab's dual-core Tegra 2 chipset brought the same level of performance that we experienced from the Wi-Fi model. The interface is snappy and smooth, while the hardware easily handles complex apps and multitasking without dragging down

The LTE variant integrates the same display and cameras as the Wi-Fi edition. Reiterating our observations from the original Tab 10.1 review, we found the display to be vibrant and crisp but without the extremely wide viewing angles of the iPad 2's IPS panel. Samsung originally equipped the first-generation Tab 10.1 (the "10.1V") with an eight-megapixel primary camera. Both the second-generation Tab 10.1 Wi-Fi and the LTE model both integrate a three-megapixel sensor, but we find this to be sufficient for most situations in which a user would find a tablet to be a better option for taking pictures than a dedicated camera or cellphone.

Potential customers already tied to smartphone contracts from other carriers that have yet to catch up to Verizon's LTE speeds, or customers who do not have or want a smartphone data plan, may find the 4G Tab to be an enticing offer. It is an excellent tablet, one of the best Android offerings on the market, but buying one of Verizon's LTE-capable smartphones with a hotspot plan can bring more flexibility at a lower cost.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE Ready to roll

Samsung is here with its latest revelation the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE which is another one of the ventures of this company into the global tablet market. This device is built for delivering high speed performance for work related applications and thus allowing maneuverability to its users, instead of sticking themselves to any desktop system for getting a job done. It has all facilities to get connect web and share data with other device the features are 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP, GPRS, EDGE and USB. In 3G connectivity users can get to speed internet up to 21 Mbps.
