Display Your Now Playing Song’s Album Art In iOS 5 App Switcher

There is another great new jailbreak tweak called AlbumArt which allows you to display your now playing song’s album art in your App Switcher. This is a great tweak for music lovers so let’s see what all the fuss is about.

AlbumArt has been developed by deVbug on AppSwitcher and it looks to be one of the simplest tweaks we have seen in a long time. It is a one trick tweak and it does this very well. All you have to do is install it and it will replace the Music.app icon on your iOS 5 App Switcher with album art for the current song being played. Here’s is what it says on Cydia:

Requires iOS 5 or higher Show album art on app switcher. support iPod app and other music app (it should be show album art on lockscreen). No icons added to home screen. No options to configure. This new tweak has been tested on the iPhone 4 on iOS 5 and it works just as advertised. It is coupled with the back/play/forward button which means you basically get a full Android like widget for the Music app under the app switcher. This really is a great tweak and if you have album art associated with your songs you will love it. If you don’t have album art associated with your music all you will see is a black and which music icon. Thanks to the amazing retina display featured on the iPhone 4 this tweak looks really great.

In order to use this tweak you will need to have a jailbroken device and you can jailbreak iOS 5 using Redsn0w or Sn0wbreeze. AlbumArt on AppSwitcher can be downloaded for free from the BigBoss repository under Cydia.

Fujitsu Stylistic M532 10-incher with Tegra 3 chip appears, along with a hands-on video

Hot on the heels of CES 2012, Fujitsu seems to have outed a 10" Tegra 3 tablet to complement its quad-core Arrows phone that was lounging at the expo.

Besides NVIDIA's Tegra 3 silicon, the Fujitsu Stylistic M532 slate boasts 10.1" display with 1280x800 pixels, 8MP rear and 3MP front cameras, plus 16GB of onboard storage. The company made a water resistant 10-incher last year, the Fujitsu F-01D, but whether that's the case with the Tegra 3 slate is not mentioned.

The Stylistic M532 leaked with the price tag of $630 and rumored May availability, but we are still waiting for an official announcement,. That might come just in time for the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month, where the brand's cohorts are rumored to plot a big splash. Seeing that Fujitsu is planning an onslaught with the North American market, this thing might arrive stateside at some point as well.

The Fujitsu Stylistic M532 is demonstrated with Honeycomb in the video below, but will probably hit the shelves with Android ICS.

How to Jailbreak iOS 5, iOS 5.0.1 on iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch using Ac1dSn0w

We have some good news for the entire iOS jailbreaking community, a new iOS jailbreak has been released to the general public that has capability to jailbreak the iOS 5.0 as well as the iOS 5.0.1 firmware that runs on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. The name of this new iPhone / iPad jailbreak tool is Ac1dSn0w.

Folks over at the Pwn Dev Team have released the first beta version of Ac1dSn0w which is available for Mac OS X users only. And just like the iPhone Dev Team’s Redsn0w 0.9.9 and iH8sn0w’s Sn0wbreeze jailbreak tool, the new Ac1dSn0w jailbreak tool is compatible for the users of iPhone 4 (GSM and CDMA), iPhone 3GS, iPad 1, and iPod Touch 4G running on iOS 5 and iOS 5.0.1 firmware. In addition to these, you should also be noted that Ac1dSn0w offers tethered jailbreak only. Anyway, you can check the tutorial posted below on how to jailbreak iOS 5 / iOS 5.0.1 using Ac1dSn0w beta 1 jailbreak tool:

Steps to Jailbreak iOS 5 / iOS 5.0.1 iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch using Ac1dSn0w:
Step 1: First, you will need to download Ac1dSn0w jailbreak tool for Mac OS X using this link (link removed due to copyright issues).
Step 2: After downloading, launch the application and then connect your iPad 1, iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4G into your Mac via USB cable.
Note: You can click on “Show Console” in order to see some device related information. This option will also show you the current status of the jailbreaking procedures. On the other hand, the assistant panel will assist you in putting your iOS device in Pwned DFU / DFU mode.
Step 3: Power OFF your device.
Step 4: Now you have to click on the “Show Assistant” to put your iOS device in DFU mode, just follow the onscreen instructions.
Step 5: Once you have managed to put your iOS device in DFU mode just simply click on the “Jailbreak” button and wait till the application completes the jailbreaking process (the iOS device will reboot once done). That’s it. You can now see Cydia app ion the Springboard of your jailbroken iOS device.

Tethered Boot iOS 5 / iOS 5.0.1 via Ac1dSn0w:
Step 6: To tethered boot, connect your iOS device into your Mac, launch Ac1dSn0w jailbreak tool, and put your iOS device in DFU mode by clicking the “Show Assistant” option.
Step 7: Then hit the “Tethered Boot” in order to boot your iOS device in tethered jailbreak state.

You can check Pwn Dev Team official website to know more about Ac1dSn0w jailbreak tool.

Update:
MuscleNerd of the iPhone Dev Team advised iOS jailbreakers to STAY AWAY from this tool as it contains copyright Apple code.

Unfortunately they achieve this by directly embedding Apple code in their program (15 times!). That’s the kind of copyright infringement we stay away from. Hosting this app can lead to DMCA takedowns, etc. (Anyhow, redsn0w doesn’t need the IPSW for each tethered boot either..it fetches the images from Apple’s servers once and then caches them.).
