Lenovo K800 Intel Medfield Smartphone Gets Official

Intel's been promising a smartphone of its own for about as long as men have been walking the ground of Earth, but it looks as if its May 2011 claims of "early next year" are finally getting close to being "accurate." Here at the company's CES 2012 keynote, the Medfield-based Lenovo K800 was revealed as the first Intel-powered smartphone (boasting Android 4.0, no less), with Lenovo's home turf being pegged as getting first dibs. There's a 4.5-inch 720p display and rear camera with dual-LED flash but outside of a tip that it'll be shipping to China Unicom in Q2 of this year, everything else surrounding it remains a mystery.

First off, it's downright amazing to hear Intel finally give us a date to mark down, but it remains to be seen how many phone manufacturers will drop their existing adoration for Qualcomm and NVIDIA in order to given Intel's (historically power-sucking) mobile chips a go.

The Lenovo K800 will come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and it features a 4.5 inch 720p touchscreen display, and a 1.6GHz Intel Medfield processor, plus an 8 megapixel camera with an ISO range up to 3200. Other specifications include 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, HSPA+, Bluetooth 3.0 and GPS, the device will launch in China initially there are no details on when we will see it in the US and Europe.

Lenovo LePhone S2 Android Smartphone Appears At CES 2012

On the surface, the Lenovo LePhone S2 looks like a big rectangular soap bar with curved edges on the top and bottom of the phone. Under the hood, it is powered by a single-core 1.4GHz processor with 512MB or 1GB of RAM. It has a 3.8-inch LCD display with 800 x 480 resolution pixels. It has an 8-megapixel camera.

The WCDMA phone is running on Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread) with a heavy skinning on top. Lenovo has also tweak the capacitive buttons to recognize gesture to bring up the recent apps menu. The recent apps user interface does share a visual similar resemblance with the WebOS’s deck of cards. However, instead of flicking up to terminate an app, you have tap on the “X” button on the top right corner.

The outright purchase of the LePhone S2 is priced at RMB 2,990 (approx. RM 1500) and it is currently available in China only. "Selain dari pengumuman tentang tablet di CES 2012, Lenovo juga telah memperkenalkan telefon pintar Android LePhone S2 yang hanya akan dijual di China.
