Back in June, iOS hacker iH8sn0w (the main man behind the ubër-popular Sn0wbreeze iPhone / iPad jailbreak tool) released a new utility called iFaith SHSH Blobs Dumper. This new tool has capability to save or dump SHSH blobs for present iOS version on iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch as well as create a pre-signed IPSW file which can be restored on iOS devices via iTunes. Well, today, iH8sn0w has updated his iFaith tool bringing it to version number 1.4 which brings support for saving SHSH blobs of iOS 5.0 and iOS 5.0.1 firmware as long as you are currently running that firmware on your iOS device. Yes, iFaith will save the SHSH blobs of your device even if Apple has already stopped singing that firmware.However, you should be noted that not all iOS devices were supported by iFaith due to the fact that iFaith was based on Limera1n’s bootrom exploit. And because of this, iFaith will not work on the new iPhone 4S and iPad 2 as these hardwares are powered by the new A5 dual-core chip. You can only use iFaith to save SHSH blobs of the iPad 1, iPhone 4 (GSM and CDMA) iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 4G, iPod Touch 3G, and Apple TV 2 only.
The new iFaith v1.4 is packed with necessary bug fixes, performance improvements, much faster blob dumping, and a lot more. The full change log of iFaith v1.4 is posted below:

Well, you were probably aware by now that downgrading firmware in iOS 5 and iOS 5.0.1 using TinyUmbrella is not possible at the moment. This is due to the fact that Apple has started signing SHSH blobs differently in iOS 5 than what they normally did in the previous versions of the iOS so that iOS device users will not be able to replay them during the firmware restoration process.
