Samsung's ChatON cross-platform messaging app lands in the App Store
Samsung has released the iOS version of its cross-platform messaging app ChatON. Previously available for Android and bada smartphones, the new iOS version will attempt to go head-to-head with Apple's iMessage service on the iPhone
There are no shortage of cross-platform messaging apps available to smartphone users today, but that hasn't stopped Samsung from pressing forward with its ChatON service. The Android version of the app launched back in October, and Samsung has hinted at plans for a BlackBerry version and a Windows Phone edition.
As with any chat service worth its salt, ChatON allows iPhone users to communicate one-on-one or in groups and share photos, video, or voice clips. It also has a drawing feature for sharing sketches made with on the phone. Users on the iPhone can seamlessly communicate with Android or bada smartphone owners through the ChatON service.
