Sony Ericsson Kumquat photo leaks; model has mid to high end specs with a smaller form factor

The other day we told you about a leak of two new smartphone models from Sony Ericsson. One model had the unlikely name of the Sony Ericsson Kumquat (ST25i). Now, a new picture of the device has leaked. The model is due out this coming April according to the Sony Ericsson roadmap (which comes to a fork in the road at the middle of the year when Sony takes the 'joint' out of venture) and is being produced for those who want mid to high end specs from a phone with a more portable form factor than those monolithic models with 4 inch and larger screens.

Expected to be launched at a contract price of 260EUR (approximately $335USD), the Sony Ericsson Kumquat will have a 3.5 inch screen, the same size as the display on that other popular model (you know which one!). The resolution on the screen is FWVGA (480 x 854),and a dual-core 1GHz processor is under the hood. On the back is a 5MP camera. Nothing has been said about which build of the Android OS will be on the device at launch.

You might notice the transparent strip near the bottom of the device, similar to what we have just seen on the Sony Xperia S. We should see an official introduction of the Sony Ericsson Kumquat next month at MWC in Barcelona. Which reminds us that February is right around the corner and when it comes to coverage of MWC, you are going to want to keep your eyes right here!
