Sprint's Express Mobile Hotspot

Sprint has released a new mobile hotspot, the simply-named Express Mobile Hotspot, that offers 3G and 4G connectivity to up to five devices. The Express Mobile Hotspot fits in a pocket and carries a pint-sized price.

The Express Mobile Hotspot offers much of what we would expect from a mobile hotspot these days, with support for Sprint's 3G CDMA network and its 4G WiMAX network, connectivity for up to five simultaneous devices, microSD card slot for document sharing, and 7 hours of battery life from a 2,200mAh removable battery. It charges over micro-USB, and it can also act as a tethered USB modem. There is also an external display that shows signal strength, battery life, and other connection data. The Express Mobile Hotspot measures 109mm x 61mm x 16.8mm (4.3in x 2.4in x 0.66in) and weighs 119g (4.2oz). With no software to install, a long-lasting battery and a broader range, the Sprint Express Mobile Hotspot makes it easy to share your Sprint 3G or 4G network connection with up to five Wi-Fi enabled devices within a 262-foot radius. Deploy a small workgroup or quickly provide clients, customers and friends the access to connect tablets, laptops, eReaders, gaming consoles and more. The Express Mobile Hotspot works seamlessly with any operating system, so no matter where you are on the Sprint network, the access you need is just a click away.

When coverage is available, experience broadband-like download speeds. The average download speeds range from 400 to 700 Kbps with peak rates up to 2 Mbps. All while on the Sprint network.

Sprint is offering the Express Mobile Hotspot now for $29.99 with a new two-year data plan contract. It can be paired with any of Sprint's mobile broadband plans, including the new 6G and 12GB options.
