Apple Planning A Media Event For January?

According to company sources it seems that New York may soon be welcoming Apple to what is reportedly going to be a small scale media event to be held at the end of January. This will see Apple moving away from their usual home in Cupertino and San Francisco and sources close to the alleged event claim that Apple will invade New York towards the end of January in order to host an event that will have a media related announcement.

Rumors are already circulating that they might be going to announce the iPad 3 or an interactive television set. Perhaps it will be an update to iOS or more. The answers to these questions cannot be answered at the moment but like all Apple events there is sure to be something interesting and noteworthy to this event.

Some reports are suggesting that Apple Senior Vice President of Internet Software and Services, Eddy Cue will be attending and playing a big part in this event. Eddy Cue is in control of a large batch of Apple media units, which includes the iTunes Store, the iBooks store, App Store and the iAd network. Apple also has an office in New York where part of the iAd team work from.

Until an official statement is released we really don’t have any idea what this event is New York is all about but what we do know is that it will be eagerly awaited as are all the Apple events and I’m sure in the weeks running up to it we will see a lot more rumors and reports surfacing.

Retina Display will allow the iPad 3 to invade “mission critical” professions

Adoption of the iPad and iPad 2 by businesses has been well documented, but the expected bump in screen resolution on the iPad 3 will allow the device to be used in professional settings that demand a higher level of visual precision.

A higher resolution display would likely find rapid adoption amongst medical imaging professionals as well. Radiologists are currently allowed to use the iPad as a mobile diagnoses platform, but not as a replacement for full workstations. Higher resolution displays should expand the scenarios in which an iPad 3 could be used as the primary tool for making diagnoses.

Apple is expected to be first to a tablet to market with a Retina Display-type pixel density. By providing higher resolution imaging to professionals in medical, aviation, and other fields Apple could bolster its commanding lead in several business markets. It appears that Apple has been planning to adopt high-resolution displays since early 2011, but has had problems getting them built in sufficient quantities.

Steve Jobs, 1955-2011:

Apple Turns On iTunes Match, Launch Imminent

When Apple announced iOS 5 and iCloud earlier in the year they also announced a new music streaming service which is called iTunes Match, and it will basically let you stream music that you already own from the cloud direct to your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

When Apple released iOS 5 earlier in the month, we were told that iTunes Match would launch in November, and now it would appear that iTunes Match may be getting ready to launch. Apple has now activated the option to turn on iTunes Match in iOS 5, which could mean that the service will launch soon, iTunes Match will only be available in the US at first and the service will cost $24.99 per year. We still dont have any information if iTunes Match will also be available in the UK and Europe at the same time as the US launch, we suppose it depends on whether Apple has managed to sign similar deals with the European record companies as it did in the US.
