A new startup company called WanderPlayer have been developing a new application for mobile smartphones that will transform them into a computer game controllers. The great thing about the new WanderPlayer controller application is that it will replace any controller you wish whether it be a classic controller, a motion controller or steering wheel. The choice is yours.To be able to convert your mobile smartphone into a PC game controller, you first need to download and install both a mobile phone application and the desktop computer app. Watch the video after the jump to see it in action on a number of different games.
Co-founder of WanderPlayer Ayo Omojola explains:
“You could probably build a crude equivalent at a hackathon,” – “but both the user-interaction and performance required for games [as well as] the controllers and console that work across local environments are really difficult and take a while to get right.”
As they develop their new system the creators hope to add multiplayer functionality enabling 2 players to go head-to-head on the same computer without any additional equipment. With the possibility of allowing 11 players say playing a football game to be controlled with the system in the future, say it creators.
