iPhone Latch & Lanyard, Supports Your iPhone While Capturing Movies And Photos

A new iPhone Latch & Lanyard concept designed to be used with the Gymbl Case is currently over on the Kickstarter website looking to make the jump from concept to production, and has been designed to help you take iPhone photographs with ease. We have featured a number of different solutions here on Geeky Gadgets that have been designed to aid stability and help you hold and control your iPhone movement when taking photographs. But none have been as small or as convenient as the iPhone Latch & Lanyard concept. Watch the video after the jump to see it in action. Gordon Fowler explains a little more about his concept.

“Held taut against your neck, the iPhone is steady when taking photos and when capturing video you can hold it steady or swing it through a smooth and graceful arc. You will be surprised by how much of a difference it makes. It’s also amazing how natural and secure it feels to do this with one thumb steadying the camera while the other is over the shutter and adjusting the settings. It works both left- and right-handed and in portrait as well as landscape mode.”

The iPhone Latch & Lanyard concept is now looking to raise $20,000 to help get the concept into production, so if you think its something you would use make a pledge for $15 to make sure you have one once it goes into production at the special Kickstarter introductory offer price.

iPUP iPhone Credit Card Case

There are a number of different case designs currently available on the market for the iPhone, that also enable you to easily carry your credit cards. But this new innovative case designed by Yun Seong Kim. Provides a simple yet innovative solution for carrying both your iPhone 4/4S and a credit card. For those purchases you need to make that can’t be bought using the new NFC technology.

The iPUP has been design to provide a save method of carrying your credit card without the need for a wallet to purse. Using a slot on the back of the iPhone case into which you can slide your credit card. Keeping it secure, yet not damaging the card’s security strip.

The iPUP is constructed from UV-Coated PET film so the smooth surface will help protect your credit cards magnetic strip. As well as dispersing some electromagnetic waves from your iPhone, says its designer Yun Seong Kim. Unfortunately the iPUP iPhone credit card case is still only a concept at the moment, but will hopefully find its way into production through the likes of Kickstarter and similar websites.

Futulele Transforms Your iPad And iPhone Into A Digital Ukulele

We have featured a number of different devices here on Geeky Gadgets that use Apple devices to create guitars and instruments. But an innovative instrument called the Futulele, now use both an iPad and iPhone to create a digital version of the classic Ukulele. The Futulele has been designed as an iPad application which can be used on its own with on just one iPad. But a case is also available which then combines both iOS devices together. Once combined into the Futulele case the iPad tablet is used to strum while the iPhone is used to select the chords required. The Futulele has been created by Amidio and is at the moment just a prototype concept.

The Futulele can be used to create up to 12 chords for each song and enables you to change chord sets on the fly if required. Amidio is now looking for assistance from a manufacturer to help the Futulele make the jump from concept to production. To tell the truth, the device composition looks so obvious that we’re wondering why no-one has thought of this before, but still – this is a completely new way of producing music with iOS devices.

Instaprint Location Based Photobooth

A small company called Breakfast that specialises in creating devices to bridge the gap between online and the real world, unveiled their new Instaprint location based photo booth. Its been designed to transform parties by allowing anyone to print photos using Instaprint that has been set look out for specific locations or hashtags. The photos are then printed on ink less paper automatically. Watch the video after the jump to see Instaprint in action.

Over the past year the team at Breakfast have been creating prototypes and have now perfected their device. The team have now published it on Kickstarter and are looking for help to make the jump from concept to production. The team behind Instaprint explain:

“Going from prototype to consumer product is a massive step, and is something BREAKFAST has been working on for almost a year. It’s a huge endeavor that will require us to bring on more staff and dedicate many months to make it all happen. Some things are sure to change as we get into the thick of it, but that means things will only get better.”

iSlic Smartphone Mounting System

If you are looking for a universal mount to help you attach your smartphone to any number of places. The new iSlic mount which is currently on Kickstarter might well be worth a look. iSlic has been designed to accommodate any smartphone and hold it firmly in place on your bike handlebars, gym equipment or in your car to name a few places. LightPad Projector Transforms Your Smartphone Into A Laptop

A new device has been unveiled this week by QP Optoelectronics, called the LightPad projector, which has been designed to transform your smartphone into a laptop. The LightPad is made up of a pico projector and full-sized QWERTY keyboard and an 11 inch screen.

Simply connect your smartphone to the device and use the LightPad rear projection screen to view your apps and games. Currently the LightPad can handle 854 x 480 pixel display resolutions. But QP Optoelectronics is hoping to increase this in future models allowing it to handle 720p video. Watch the video after the jump to see it in action.

As well as using the 11 inch screen the projector can be turned within the LightPad to create a larger 60 inch projection. Allowing you to enjoy movies, or carry out presentations in style. Connectivity to iOS, Android, Win, Blackberry are supported via HDMI or MHL output, and the LightPad projector system will be showcased at CES next month.

FourPro Case Safely Takes Your iPhone 100ft Beneath The Waves

One thing that never mixes well with any electronic devices is water. Unless they have been coated with a barrier film, unfortunately though the barrier film is still under development and might not protect your iPhone at depths of up to 100ft. Thats were a new Kickstarter project comes in called the FourPro.

The FourPro case has been designed to enable you to take your iPhone beneath the waves, and capture high resolution video and photographs. The FourPro system has been designed and field tested by the Emmy award-winning National Geographic underwater videographer, Ken Corben. Corben explains:
“Our dive housing will allow anyone with an iPhone 4 or 4s to capture these precious and incredible moments that would otherwise be economically out of reach for this quality of HD video underwater. The alternatives to capture HD video at any depth below a kitchen sink run thousands to tens of thousands of dollars! Ken knows, he does it for a living. You can achieve the same results Hollywood spends millions to produce in the palm of your hand.”

If the FourPro makes the jump from concept to production the MSRP will be $699 which includes housing, lanyard, Teak handles and a custom hard case. However if you make a pledge the Kickstarter price is $399 for early adopters.

A useful utility has been developed which has been designed to provide Android App developers with a utility for Mac, Windows and Linux that will mirror a portion of your desktop screen to your USB-connected Android device.

The new Android Design Preview software is still in its beta development stage but would already provide a great tool for demonstrating mock-up and work in progress. Capta Smartphone Tripod Mount

If you have ever wanted to securely fix your smart phone to a tripod you will already know how awkward this can be. Well a new handy device has been developed and is now looking to make the jump from concept to manufacture over on the Kickstarter website.

The device is called Capta and it has been designed to enable you to easily and securely fixed any smartphone with a flat back to a camera tripod using a custom designed fitting and special suction pad. The suction pad is reusable and holds your smartphone securely in place when needed but allows you to easily remove your smartphone once you have finished. Capta will work with iPhone 2, 3, 3s, 4 and 4s, iPod touch, Samsung, HTC and Blackberry phones or any phone with a flat enough surface for the pad can adhere to. Its designers explain:

WanderPlayer Transforms Your Phone Into Computer Game Controller

A new startup company called WanderPlayer have been developing a new application for mobile smartphones that will transform them into a computer game controllers. The great thing about the new WanderPlayer controller application is that it will replace any controller you wish whether it be a classic controller, a motion controller or steering wheel. The choice is yours.

To be able to convert your mobile smartphone into a PC game controller, you first need to download and install both a mobile phone application and the desktop computer app. Watch the video after the jump to see it in action on a number of different games.

Co-founder of WanderPlayer Ayo Omojola explains:
“You could probably build a crude equivalent at a hackathon,” – “but both the user-interaction and performance required for games [as well as] the controllers and console that work across local environments are really difficult and take a while to get right.”

As they develop their new system the creators hope to add multiplayer functionality enabling 2 players to go head-to-head on the same computer without any additional equipment. With the possibility of allowing 11 players say playing a football game to be controlled with the system in the future, say it creators.
