Popular webOS Twitter app Carbon coming to Windows Phone and Android
Without new webOS devices to sell apps for, App Catalog developers are turning to other platforms just like webOS users are doing with their phones. One app that is heading to Android and Windows Phone is Carbon. This is a third party Twitter app that has a pretty good following on webOS. The self proclaimed "Premium Twitter app" costs $2.99 on the HP App Catalog.
With the final beta of the app for Windows Phone already closed, an official launch of the app should take place soon. In fact, the company says it will make an an official announcement when it submits the app to the Windows Marketplace. As far as the Android Market is concerned, UX director Saleh Esmaeili tells Android Central that the app is in the design stage. Esmaeili said, "It was a little daunting when we first looked at Android SDKs and the lack of fluid UI design in the past, all changes with ICS. We can now benefit from animations and transitions along with lots of UI elements that can make designing a good experience possible on Android."
The director added that he is excited about Carbon joining the Android Market and will be on it "full steam". If you want to see what the excitement is all about, click on the video below for a sneak peek at the Windows Phone version of Carbon.
