TinyUmbrella Updated to Save iOS 5.0.1 SHSH Blobs (Direct Links)

Semaphore (also known as Notcom) has just rolled out a new version of its must-have TinyUmbrella tool, the tool that enables you to backups your device’s SHSH blobs (ECID SHSH) so that you will be able to downgrade the firmware of your iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch to its previous iOS versions if you have accidentally restore your iOS device to the latest software update. For those of you who aren’t aware, Apple has released the iOS 5.0.1 software update for the iPad 2, iPad 1, iPhone 4 (GSM and CDMA), iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 4G, iPod Touch 3G, and iPhone 4S to fix the poor battery life issues on iOS 5-based devices.

If you are a jailbreaker or unlocker, therefore I would recommend you to download and use TinyUmbrella so that you can easily downgrade our iOS device back to its previous firmware. Here’s what Semaphore have said regarding the new version of TinyUmbrella. Even though there is still no working solution for restoring 5.x on iPhone 4S I have released a 5.01.00 so you can at least save 5.0.1 SHSH. I have added tentative support for at least saving 5.0.1 SHSHs for iPhone 4S but as of now we are unable to use them fully. You can download the latest version of TinyUmbrella for Mac OS X and Windows using the download link posted below:

Note: Make sure your iTunes is closed before you connect the device.

Step 4: Once detected, just simply click on your iOS device and you should be able to see all the important details of your device in the application’s General Tab, which includes Device Model, Installed Firmware (iOS) Version, ECID (in both Decimal and HEX), and Serial Number.
Step 5: Lastly, click on ‘Save SHSH’ to save its signature and you are done.
