What Does The iPad 3 Offer?

The iPad 3 is set to make its debut on the 7th of March at a special media event in San Francisco. The rumors have been coming in very fast indeed and one of the latest rumors is one that actually reveals a great deal of information about what the iPad 3 might just hold. If these rumors are true then tech blog MIC Gadget really have gotten their hands on the front glass, rear shell and case of the iPad 3 and some great pieces of information to go with it.

The first thing that they reported is that the front panel of the iPad 3 does in fact have a home button. When Apple initially sent out their invitation to the press event there was huge speculation and many believed that the iPad 3 didn't have a home button due to the way it was photographed. It also seems that the iPad 3 is slightly thicker than the iPad 2 and the edges are more tapered. This will make the device feel thinner when being held. The iPad 3 also fits the current generation smart covers too. MIC Gadget has plenty of great photos and a video on their blog where they compare the alleged iPad 3 hardware with that of the iPad 2. Here is a brief overview of what they are saying.

The iPad 3 will be available in its current assortment of 16GB, 32GB and 64Gb. The price points for each of these devices is also said to be remaining the same. There is speculation that LTE will not be built into the iPad 3 and they report that this is due to the fact that there is a limited market for the LTE and that the price of this chip would increase the cost of the device. They do state however that LTE could be added into the next generation model after the iPad 3.

Again these are just rumors and with all rumors they must be taken with a pinch of salt. We are of course only a matter of days away from the official unveiling of the iPad 3 so we will all know the facts very soon.

New Feature Packed iPad Puts Apple On Top

All eyes were glued to the Media Event that took place last Wednesday where Apple’s new iPad was revealed. The feature list for the new iPad is exception and finally implements some of the great new hardware that people have craved. This includes the long overdue introduction of the Retina Display which really is just the icing on the cake.

Other features of the new iPad include quad-core graphics, iSmart camera and 4G LTE compatibility. Of course all these great features would be useless without the increase battery capacity which has been increased by 70%. This means that users should be able to get the most from the new iPad. The new iPad is due to go on sale this Friday the 16th of March and already Apple pre-orders have gone through the roof with many of their online stores having trouble keeping their servers online. The much awaited announcement of the next generation iPad has been worth the wait and this feature packed tablet really is going to be something that many users are going to want to buy.

Another great announcement was that the iPad 2 would be dropping by $100. Other tablets have always had the advantage of being cheaper so now with $100 knocked off the price of this fantastic device Apple really have got two generations of devices that are sure to be on top when it comes to tablet based numbers. The iPad 2 is now even more affordable and of course more favourable to consumers which means that the likes of Samsung are going to be in trouble with the new iPad finally being launched.

New iPad Goes On Sale In Apple Stores From 8AM Today

Everyone is so excited about the third generation iPad and this really is fast becoming the most anticipated iPad release to date. The huge Retina Display forms the centrepiece of what is going to be a very popular device. Apple has already seen a massive demand in pre-orders and it is safe to assume that once the doors open in the Apple Stores today there is going to be a huge rush as everyone tries to get their hands on this latest piece of Apple technology.

You can be sure that there will be people huddled up outside their nearest Apple Store in the hope that they are near the top of the queue and will indeed get their hands on a new iPad today. During other iPad releases, Apple stores have closed throughout the day to get ready for an early evening release which can often cause a lot of problems for customers and staff and it seems that this time round it is going to be different.

According to a photo that was posted over at 9to5Mac, it seems that stores will be opening at 8AM rather than the usual evening event. This is going to make things so much easier for staff to get to all the customers and of course it means that those who join the queues won’t have to wait for as long. It is also thought that Apple Store employees are to receive an extra 10% in their pay packets this month which although not confirmed would be a lovely gesture by Apple and it will show the public that they really do look after their staff and appreciate how hard they work during times like this.

Sara Is The Latest Siri Clone That Works On All iOS Devices

Siri has always been of interest to developers and this escalated with the release of an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1 in December 2011 and the release of the A5 Absinthe jailbreak for the iPhone 4S and the iPad 2 in January. Up until now the best way to install Siri on an unsupported device has been Spire which was released in December 2011. That is all about to change with the introduction of Sara.

Spire is easy to set up and requires users to connect to a proxy server in order for the various commands to be answered by Apple's pocket slave. It was only a matter of time before more Siri alternatives became available and a Vietnamese Dev Team has produced a more advanced tool which goes by the name of Sara. This free voice recognition utility takes things a little further than merely setting reminders or driving users crazy with nonsensical conversation and it also appears to be much more versatile.

It has been described by its creators as having an open brain allowing those in the know to create plugins for special commands. Right now the feature set is still impressive and you can scan barcodes or QR codes. The most encouraging thing about Sara is that is works in a variety of countries and it has 37 languages. If you want to get your hands on Sara you will need to have a jailbroken iPhone and you will find it in Cydia.

Apple readying a 7-inch iPad?

Apple is once again said to be getting a 7-inch version of its iPad ready for release, despite Steve Jobs early comments about the impractical form factor. This time the source of the rumor is Technology Business Research analyst Ezra Gottheli saying Cupertino is preparing to tablets for launch soon.

Now, we’d definitely take this with a grain of salt - it’d actually go against Apple’s own principles, and we find it hard to believe that Apple will suddenly change its opinion about smaller tablets, but it’s nonetheless possible.

Now, Gottheli specifies that the 7-inch tablet won’t arrive at the same event as the third-generation 9.7-inch iPad, and that it’s also likely to come with a tailor-made keyboard case as an accessory.

Cool musical accessories for iPad and iPhone

The iPhone and especially the iPad, received somewhat of a cult status as a musician's best friend after their release. A lot of people who were into Macs and iPods before, were into music as well, so naturally a number of apps appeared on the iPhone for everything - from tuning your guitar, to playing the piano. When the iPad increased the screen real estate available, we even had popular bands creating albums solely on Apple's tablets.

Needless to say, the accessory industry amplified (no pun intended) this trend, outing an abundance of accompanying devices for music lovers out there, that worked in sync with their iPhones and iPads. We are not even talking about speaker docks that double as a nightstand here.

There are turntables, stomp pedals and vinyl records-iPhone transfer systems. We round up a few of the interesting ones that might make you eager to unleash your inner DJ, while you wait for the wonders of the next iPad.

Today only: iPads and iPods 10% cheaper on NewEgg

If you’ve missed all those Holiday sales don’t worry - NewEgg has got you covered with a rare 10% off deal on all iPads and iPods. There’s no catch, but you’d need to hurry up - the deal will only last one day, and that’s today. You’d need to enter the following code: EMCNHNA28 The code is valid until 11:59pm PST today, on February 9th, but if you order sooner you’d do better as there’s a fund limitation. Once it runs out, the promotion could end even earlier.

Now, that’s not everything NewEgg sells - it’s deal covers cameras, monitors, other Verizon smartphones and plenty of gadgets, but our guess is that the Apple products will be in biggest demand. Is 10% enough to lure you into purchase? Also, don’t forget that a little patience might go a long way - Apple is expected to unveil the next-generation iPad with improved battery and specs in a mere couple of weeks, so you might want to spare the piggy bank now.

iPhone's Stock Weather, Compass, Calculator, Clock, Stocks And Voice Memo Apps To iPad

If you are a new owner of an iPad 2 then you have probably been shocked to find that some of the key stock applications are not there when you turn it on. These are all natively installed on the iPhone and the iPod Touch. You may have spent some time searching for these items on your new iPad but Apple has decided that it is not necessary to have the likes of Weather, Calculator, Voice Memo, Compass and clock on the iPad.

If you want these apps then all is not lost and the jailbreak community is here to the rescue. Ryan Petrich who is an iOS developer has produced his latest iPad enhancement which brings these native applications to the iPad's springboard. This tweak is called Belfry and it has been released into the BigBoss repository free of charge. It is available to download for all jailbroken iPads. Installing this tweak will add six additional icons to the SpringBoard and you can launch them as normal apps just the same as the iPhone.

This is something that has been talked about for quite some time with the jailbreak community and if you intend to download Belfry make sure you read the information in Cydia first. Belfry is only available for iPads runnign iOS 5 or higher and users will definitely experience some visual anomalies after the iPad has rebooted. There may be some graphical errors when running these apps and this is due to the way the iPad handles the running of native iPhone applications. This can be partially rectified by installing a tweak called RetinaPad along with Belfry which will render the applications in full screen mode in the best possible way for the iPad. In order to use Belfry you will need to jailbreak your iPad and you can jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 using Absinthe.

iOS 5 Beta 3 Includes More iPad 3 And Facebook Integration References

No matter when Apple releases a new beta version of their iOS some clever people go snooping to see what they can find hidden inside. The latest beta version iOS 5.1 beta 3 seems to be no different and this time two new iPad references have been discovered again. Two new code names, J1AP and J2AP have been discovered in the latest beta release which appear to link with recent reports that suggest the iPad 3 is being developed under the J1 and J2 names. It is presumed that one of these is the Wi-Fi only version and the other will also have a 3G radio.

Apple has always been known to test new hardware using the latest betas of the newest iOS whilst adding new features that are due to debut with the hardware. The betas that were released for iOS 5 has reference to Siri and voice dictation which are two new features that came with the iPhone 4S release.

Apple is working on an iPad 3 we all know that very well and if they follow their existing release cycle then we should expect to hear about a possible announcement within the next three months. Another new feature to be spotted in the latest beta release of iOS 5.1 is an old one that never made it into the shipping version of iOS 5 and this is the Facebook integration which is similar to the Twitter integration that we have today. This was supposed to be part of the iOS 5 release but apparently Apple and Facebook couldn't reach an agreement. It looks as though this feature could be back but whether it comes with the shipped version of iOS 5.1 still remains a mystery.

Apple Planning Media Event For iPad 3 And iOS 5.1 In February

Most people already know that that iPad 3 can't be very far away especially if Apple is to follow their usual release schedule. A new report has suggested that we might only have to wait a couple of weeks though rather than months for this big announcement.

Japanese website Macotakara has cited sources that claim Apple is set to announce their next generation iPad sooner rather than later. It looks as if a release date for sometime during March is to be expected and an announcement is due to come towards the end of February. This time scale seems to fit in with all the reports that the new iPad 3 is being produced and will likely reach capacity during the coming weeks.

With the next iPad rumors now in full circulation the real questions remaining for many are about the hardware specifications that will be released. Many are wondering if Apple will bring LTE to the new iPad. This may not happen considering that this technology is still in its infancy so we might have to wait a little longer for this. A quad core A6 CPU is looking likely but there is a debate about whether so much power will be required.

The most talked about feature of the new iPad 3 is a retina display especially after its rapid acceptance in the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. Apple is also expected to announce the final build of iOS 5.1 for all iOS devices which is also going to bring Siri dictation to the iPad.

Apple releases Valentine's day gift guide

It’s just two weeks until Valentine’s day - the day when you can prove your love with a gift, if you ask Apple. The company has posted its Valentine’s day gift guide to help you pick something for your significant other, and to further boost its already incredible sales.

First on the list is the iPad 2 spiced up with Apple’s marketing talk: “A gift they’ll use happily ever after.” At least, until the next iPad is released, which is expected in mere weeks after Valentine’s day, so our advise on that would be to exercise the favorite virtue of every gadget lover - patience.

Next Apple is promoting its iPhone 4S, a much better-timed suggestion: “It’s the gift that does (and says) it all.” It was released back in October, and this makes it seem like a more reasonable gift candidate if your loved one is not afraid of those phone bills that come with it.

Finally, Apple promotes the iPod touch, but there’s plenty of accessories as well, so just hit the source link below to take a look at the gift guide yourselves. Have you already started thinking about Valentine’s day gifts and would they be gadgets? Share your ideas about the best Valentine’s day gift below.
