After Samsung’s announcement on the Ice Cream Sandwich updates for its smartphones and tablets, it is now LG’s turn to come out with an official announcement regarding ICS updates for LG devices. A number of LG smartphones were released this year including the LG Optimus 2X and the LG Optimus 3D. LG has announced updates for most of the recently released devices on its official Facebook page. This upgrade is expected to hit around the second and third quarters of 2012, starting with Q2 2012. Ice Cream Sandwich is the latest version of Android for tablets and smartphones alike.
LG has promised that measures will be taken to ensure a smooth OS update, though the exact dates of release might vary as each country can have different requirements based on the carrier and the smartphone model.
