RIM BlackBerry 3G+ PlayBook

It has to be tough for a company that was in a healthy position looking back a few years ago, but since then, they’ve been unable to contend in the competitive smartphone market. Heck, they even made a stab to enter the lucrative tablet market, but as we’ve seen with the PlayBook, it hasn’t quite taken off all that well – and it doesn’t help when reports hint to lackluster sales. Well, with 2011 behind us and 2012 bringing some much-needed change for the company, it’ll be intriguing to see where the company goes with its portfolio.

Interestingly enough, we’re getting a good look into what RIM intends to bring to the tablet this year – well, that’s because RIM’s entire 2012 roadmap has been leaked. First up on the table is what appears to be a 3G enabled version of the QNX based tablet, simply dubbed as the 3G+ BlackBerry PlayBook. Rather than calling it a 4G tablet outright, the attached “3G+” name is on there because the leaked slides mentions HSPA+ connectivity as its biggest differentiator with the previous model, as opposed to being a 4G LTE equipped model. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like we’ll be seeing a 10-inch PlayBook of some sort, as some of the previous rumors have indicated.

Secondly, RIM appears to be positioning two new Curve models as being a part of its “onboarding” category, which is nothing more than internal speak for a device that’s intended to bring feature phone users to smartphones. Looking at the leaked slides, these expected first time smartphone users will probably find the BlackBerry Curve 9220 and 9320 as the perfect models.

Specs-wise, they’re nothing worth bragging about seeing that they’re very entry-level like. In fact, the two smartphones feature a 2.44 QVGA display (not a touchscreen), GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, microSD card slot, 512MB RAM, and that typical Curve keyboard. Well, what’s different between the two is that the 9220 packs a 2-megapixel fixed focus camera, while the 9320 packs on a 3.2-megapixel extended depth of field camera. So yeah, they’re hardly devices deemed as next-generation, but then again, the Curve series has also been associated with low-end specs.

Last on the list and on tap for a later release in the year, is none other than RIM’s first BlackBerry 10 powered smartphone – codenamed London. Initially, it’s expected to land sometime in late September, but the leaked roadmap alludes to a later October release. Needless to say, that can be a damper for those itching to see RIM’s first BlackBerry 10 smartphone, but when you take into account what’s at stake, the later release might be beneficial – especially when expectations are going to be riding high for it.

So there you have it folks! We’re given an idea as to what RIM intends to accomplish this year, but if course, release dates and devices can change at any time.

The T-Mobile G2x's simple Android interface, blazingly fast speeds, and polished look make it the phone to beat in T-Mobile's lineup.
When LG introduced the world to the LG Optimus 2X late last year we were suitably impressed by its dual-core processor and multimedia capabilities, but because LG has a history of not importing its high-end devices into the U.S., we held out little hope that it would hop across the pond.
Fortunately, we were proved wrong. At CTIA 2011 in Orlando, Fla., LG introduced the T-Mobile G2x, which is essentially a T-Mobile USA-branded version of the Optimus 2X. Available now for $199.99 with a two-year contract, it boasts an impressive 1GHz Nvidia dual-core processor, great specs, support for T-Mobile's HSPA+ network, and all-around good looks. Sure, it's running Android 2.2 at launch, but LG promises it will be upgradable to version 2.3 in the future and Android fans will appreciate the stock Android interface.
Also notable is that the T-Mobile G2x is T-Mobile's first "G-series" phone not made by HTC (unlike the T-Mobile G1 and T-Mobile G2). This underscores T-Mobile's confidence in LG; we hope the G2x is the first of many excellent LG smartphones to make their marks on the U.S. market.

It runs Android 2.2 (Froyo) and is powered by 600 MHz processor. It has 3.2 inch capacitive touch screen, 5MP camera and a secondary VGA camera for video calling.
It has dedicated volume and camera keys, accelerometer and proximity sensors. This phone is 3G enabled and supports download speeds up to 7.2 Mbps and upload speed up to 3.6 Mbps.
Android 2.2. (Froyo). Camera Primary 5.0 MP Secondary – VGA. 600MHz Processor. 3.2 inch Multi Touch Capacitive Screen. Mi – apps – application store by Micromax.. Full Android Market. WCDMA 2100 MHz. HSDPA 7.2 Mbps. Mi-Fi Pocket Wireless Internet. GPS. Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g.Battery 1450mAh.Proximity Sensor.Gravity Sensor.
Its an extremely awesome device for its price, it definitely has its ups and its down . With limited WiFi range and useless front camera this device lacks little and gives more. Good things include impressive build quality, a great photo camera, Android 2.2, wifi hotspot, easily root-able ( with possibility of custom rome). This device is a little understated by the company. The UI is much improved and a launcher from the market like ADW launcher can make this device a gem with pinch home screens, and smooth scrolling.
The Micromax Andro A70 is a good package for someone who wants to enter the Android ecosystem, or even a good upgrade for an A60 user. This device is also an excellent secondary device for a expensive smartphone.
