HTC Ville details leaked

It looks like the HTC Edge isn't the only HTC superphone on the horizon. BGR has learned that there will also be a device codenamed the HTC Ville which will launch with Sense 4.0 as well as Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Because the Ville will be launching with ICS, that means no physical function buttons, just a nice clean face for those virtual buttons. That face will be a 4.3" qHD Super AMOLED display, which isn't quite at the same level as the 720p screen expected in the HTC Edge, but it should do the job well. Inside the Ville will be a dual-core Snapdragon S4 clocked at 1.5 GHz. It is expected to have the same 8 MP backside-illuminated camera found in the Edge, which will be capable of 1080p video capture.

Rounding out the specs, the Ville is said to not have NFC because of the issues with the metal casing, but the phone will be slick at under 8mm thick. Of course, there will be Beats audio, and it will be HSPA+, so we could see it on either AT&T or T-Mobile here in the States. Lastly, it's said to be packing a 1650 mAh battery, which seems a bit on the small side.

Your HTC Android phone can haz 5GB of Dropbox storage for free now

Your HTC Android phone can haz 5GB of Dropbox storage for free now
HTC just made the morning for many of its fans. You don't need to go to the cloud, the cloud can come to you, is HTC's logic for partnering with Dropbox, and they have good reasoning. Why spend on R&D, when there are numerous great cloud storage services out there you can just team up with?

The Taiwanese announced via Twitter that they will be pairing 5GB of free storage with each HTC Android device, which is a more generous offer than the usual 2GB Dropbox gives to the freeriding subscribers, and equals HTC with storage offerings like iCloud, for example. The HTC Windows Phones don't need this for obvious reasons, since they already come with the 25GB free storage of SkyDrive.

The smartphone and tablet maker already has the other cloud services covered via HTCSense.com and its video service HTC Watch, so now with the Dropbox partnership it adds storage as well, rounding up a complete cloud setup.

The Dropbox offer is for all HTC Android phones, young and old alike, the only thing you have to do is download the app from Android Market and enjoy the freebie.

HTC EVO Design 4G Unboxing:

End of the line for the HTC Surround

It appears as though one of the first Windows Phone 7 devices to grace AT&T has finally run its course as the HTC Surround has disappeared from the carrier’s site signaling that it may have been discontinued.

The HTC Surround was released on November 8, 2010 along with fellow Windows Phone handset the Samsung Focus. A day later, the QWERTY packing LG Quantum hit the shelves. It is not official that the HTC Surround has been discontinued but a simple search on AT&T’s website is returned with a grim message that the item is no longer available.

With its sliding Dolby Mobile speaker, the HTC Surround is a unique device. It features a 3.8-inch LCD display and was powered by a 1GHz processor. On the back of the Surround is a 5 megapixel camera that can record video in 720p HD. In addition to the sliding speaker it had a kickstand to make video watching easier.

Even though the end of the HTC Surround means the beginning of the end of a generation of Windows Phone devices, its end should also help usher in the next generation of Windows powered smartphones. The Surround will be missed, but with phones like the HTC Titan and the Samsung Focus S around the corner the future of Windows devices for AT&T looks bright.

HTC Sensation 4G Android phone now on sale

The T-Mobile HTC Sensation 4G cell phone is now on sale for $199.99 with $50 mail-in rebate or $549.99 off contract. This is cool. I have a friend who wants to buy it unlocked but the price is too high. Hopefully the unlocked price goes down soon. I’m tempted to go pick this up right now but I’ll wait until July and after that if it’s not out then I’m going for the HTC Evo 3D. Looks like a great smartphone at an outstanding price.

The T-Mobile HTC Sensation 4G cell phone features include 4.3-inch qHD (540×960) 16:9 display, a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, an 8-megapixel camera with auto-focus and 1080p HD video recording, a forward-facing camera for video chats, 768MB of RAM, 1GB of internal storage, and an 8GB microSD card, HDMI connection and Android with HTC Sense.

AT&T HTC Inspire 4G Android phone

The new AT&T HTC Inspire 4G cell phone supports HSPA+, Unless it says LTE or WiMAX, it isn’t “4G”. This phone doesn’t have a front facing camera and only has a 1230 mAh battery. The Inspire 4G looks like the Evo, just like how the HTC Desire HD and the HTC Thunderbolt look like the Evo. Wow great Android phones AND the iPhone?? Well done AT&T! Either these phones will be outdated very quickly when the LTE network comes, or AT&T will push back their plans for LTE because of all this hullabaloo about HSPA+.

AT&T HTC Inspire 4G will have a 4.3 inch WVGA display, an 8-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, Android 2.2 Froyo, it will be launch in 2011.
