Step 2:

You will find a 'Save' button on the top right-hand corner of the page. Tapping on this button will initiate the process to save the SHSH blob directly on to the Cydia servers.

It seems like no matter what happens Google wants to be a part of it. Google has become a part of most people’s lives and let’s face it, most of us can’t do without it. Google search is the most commonly used item on the internet and with smartphones now connecting to the internet Google is always in demand.

Apple does give its users a couple of ways to use Google in its iOS software and on all iOS devices. This is done through the search bar in Mobile Safari and the Spotlight screen just to the left of the home screen. Both of these options work very well and they are easy to use but if you want something more there is always Google’s own iOS app.

If you want something more there is a brand new app called StatusGoogle and this also makes use of the Notification Center. This brand new app can’t be found in the App Store though and it can only be downloaded from Cydia which is the jailbreak app store. That’s right, StatusGoogle is a jailbreak tweak and when you download this it adds a new search bar to the notification center which is iOS 5’s new way of handling all your notifications.

Once you install StatusGoogle all you have to do is type in your search and hit return and you will automatically be in mobile safari with your Google search loading automatically. We do hope that Apple will begin to allow third party app store apps to take advantage of the notification center soon but until then if you want to take advantage of it you need to jailbreak your idevice.

Untethered Jailbreak For iOS 5?

iOS 5 is due to be officially released any day now and what most people are now anxious to discover is if, when and how and untethered jailbreak will be released. Redsn0w already provide a tethered jailbreak for iOS 5 as does Sn0wbreeze but the majority of jailbreak enthusiasts are looking for an untethered solution.

An untethered iOS 5 jailbreak will give users the freedom to reboot their device without having to reconnect to the PC each time. I0n1c who is a prominent figure in the jailbreaking community tweeted that the iOS 5 untethered jailbreak is covered but he didn’t give away any further information. We are assuming that he is referring to the Chronic Dev Team who may be working on an untethered jailbreak tool for iOS 5.

At the first annual jailbreak convention that was held last month, Chronic Dev Team members P0sixninja announced that the hacking group has discovered five new userland exploits in Apple’s latest mobile operating system. This gave everyone hope that an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5 would be announced as soon as iOS 5 was officially launched. The cryptic tweet from i0nic only helps to create even more anticipation.

As the exploits that were discovered were all userland, it would suggest that the jailbreak solution for iOS 5 should work on all iOS devices on all exploit ready iOS versions. This will be much like the easy to use JailbreakMe 3.0 which finally jailbroke the iPad 2. As with all jailbreak solutions, we do have to wait until the official word is released before we can tell you exactly what you are going to get and we are hoping that when it comes to an untethered iOS 5 jailbreak this will be sooner rather than later.

Hacker Runs Unsigned Code on iOS Thanks To Security Vulnerability

Apple, as you know, has always been very proud of the way the iPhone handles security but a hacker has found a major iPhone security vulnerability that allows unsigned code to run on iOS.
Forbes has reported that security researcher Charlie Miller has released a video that shows one of Apple’s iPhones executing unsigned code. In simple terms, he has made the iPhone do things that Apple never authorized. What Miller did was make a simple stock checker app that he had approved with the App Store. Running this app in the normal way doesn’t do anything that it shouldn’t, but when Miller activates something on a server the app accesses he get access to the iPhone remotely and is able to launch apps, make the iPhone vibrate, browse the iPhone’s file system and even download the contents of the address book. This type of flaw could create a lot of nightmares for people.

Apple has since removed the app from the App Store and Miller has not released information on how this hack works. He is giving Apple the chance to plug the hole in iOS 5.0.1. He did however; state that the flaw is part of Nitro, a JavaScript engine added in iOS 4.3.

This information in the wrong hands could means that malicious users could get an app through Apple’s review process and then systematically steal data from people’s iPhones worldwide. Apple is working hard on their iOS 5.0.1 release where they are hoping to solve the current battery issues and we are sure they will be working on this security issue too. With animations there are a couple of different options including settings for the color, sound, duration and direction of each animation when switching between screens on your iPhone.

Capabilities:
The capabilities panel is great and you can use this to deactivate some of the iPhone feature that you might not use or find useful. You can deactivate such things as Voice Control or Multitasking.

Lockscreen:
There are lots of options in this panel and you can enable or disable default settings on your lockscreen such as camera or cover art. You can even change the standard slide to unlock text from here.

There are lots more options in this app including icons, folders, app switcher, status bar, pages and themes.
