The Apple iPhone supports tethering since the release of iPhone OS 3.0, but in many countries this awesome feature is blocked by the phone companies. The video below shows an easy and fast way to enable tethering on your iPhone running iPhone OS 3.1.2 so you can gain internet access for another device, e.g. a notebook. The only thing you need is a jailbroken iPhone. With the BlackSn0w unlock for iPhone 3GS and 3G now it’s possible to enable Tethering on iPhone OS 3.1.2. Before the release of BlackSn0w unlock, we wrote a hack on how to enable tethering on iPhone OS 3.1.2 which comprises a few tricky steps. But this iPhone tethering guide is pretty easy and straight forward. In order to tether iPhone OS 3.1.2 simply follow the instructions below.NOTE: iPhone 3.1.2 Tethering Guide is for Blackra1n and BlackSn0w users only. Rest of the users may follow the previous guide:
Step 1: First of all make sure you’ve unlock your iPhone using BlackSnow. Use this guide to unlock iPhone OS 3.1.2 with BlackSnow:
Step 2: From your iPhone, Open the Safari browser and navigate to:
http://m.peacefulinsanity.com/Tether.mobileconfig and hit the install button and confirm. This will install the custom IPCC file.
Step 3: Reboot your iPhone.
Step 4: Go to: Settings > General > Network > Internet Tethering
and turn it ON.
