Nokia releases battery fix update for the Lumia 800, but it's making the rounds in France so far

Right before this past Christmas, Nokia announced that they were planning to release a software update to address the battery draining issue found with some Nokia Lumia 800 units – and the date given then was today, January 18th.

Well people, Nokia made good on its promise seeing that it has started to roll out, though, it’s happening in France so far. From the sound of it all, the update has made its way to pretty much all of the wireless providers in France – with the exception of SFR, though, it’ll begin for them in a matter of days.

Essentially, the update brings the Lumia 800’s firmware to version 1600.2483.8106.11500, which of course brings along the much-needed bug fix for the battery drain problem. And on top of that, it also features a myriad of new improvements and better wireless connectivity.

Of course, there are some owners who are going to be happy by all of this, but for the rest of those still afflicted with the nagging issue, it’s simply the waiting game they’ll need to go through at this point. Nevertheless, we’re certain that it’s coming soon – well, hopefully that’s the case.
