Woohoo! Verizon 4G LTE is coming to 5 new markets and expanding in others starting tomorrow
You know the kind of reaction that Homer would have after hearing some good news of any sort? Well, there are going to be a lot of people letting out that catchy “woohoo” knowing that Verizon’s snazzy 4G LTE network is on its way to them very soon.
In their never-ending quest to blanket the country with 4G LTE speeds, Verizon announced that they are giving the green lights to five new markets starting on January 19th, which is actually tomorrow if you happen to look at a calendar. Specifically, the latest places to be graced with the next-generation network include Glens Falls, NY; Utica, NY; Lawton, OK; Brownsville, TX; and McAllen, TX.
Meanwhile, there are also a handful of existing 4G LTE markets that are being expanded to have additional coverage. The areas include Atlanta, GA; Houston, TX; and Spokane, WA – all of which are substantially large regions. So yeah, that’s pretty sweet knowing these markets are going to be blanketed even more.
As it currently stands, Big Red’s tally is now positioned at 195 markets that are covered with 4G LTE – giving them a sizable piece of the pie right now compared to the competition. Having a head start against its rivals, there’s no arguing who has the advantage at this point.
