T-Mobile G2x Gingerbread update goes live again, HTC Radar 4G and HD7 get software patches too

If you are holding on to a T-Mobile G2x and you somehow still have Froyo running on it, the carrier is now giving you another chance at getting updated to Gingerbread over-the-air. And it is not that the software update, which rolled out back in July, was unsuccessful or anything, but there seem to be people who either missed it or purchased the smartphone after the update had completed. Besides bringing the phone's Android version to 2.3, the update takes care of those pesky unexpected reboots and improves battery life. It also addresses the front-facing camera issues, which occur when using Qik, and improves disabling of Car Home.

But the T-Mobile G2x may not be the only smartphone that the carrier will be updating this week. The HTC Radar 4G and HD7, which both run Windows Phone, are expected to receive software updates as well, if a recent leak is to be trusted.

It is said that the new software will bring Wi-Fi sharing to the HTC HD7 and will allow it to connect to hidden Wi-Fi networks, while the Radar 4G will be given the ability to download and customize ringtones. Besides, both smartphones will have their visual voicemail issues resolved. The new software is supposed to become available today, so if you happen to own either the Radar 4G or the HD7, feel free to hook it up to your PC, launch Zune, and get updated.

T-Mobile brings 6 new devices to its lineup today just in time for the fall season

Now that we’re in the heart of the busy fall season, T-Mobile managed to bring 6 new devices to its lineup to give its customers a lot of variety to choose from – well, that’s if they’re in the market for smartphones and tablets.

In fact, the date of November 2nd has been kicking around for many devices, but now that it’s finally here, there’s a lot to be happy about since they’re arriving at a time when busy holiday shoppers are starting their rounds. Specifically, today marks the official launch nationwide of the HTC Radar 4G, LG DoublePlay, Samsung Exhibit II 4G, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, T-Mobile myTouch, and the T-Mobile myTouch Q. In terms of pricing, they’re respectively at $99.99, $99.99, $29.99, $399.99, $79.99, and $79.99 – all of which require your signature on a 2-year agreement of course.

Granted than none of them are necessarily killer devices at this point, they’re priced fittingly to be extremely competitive. And of course, they won’t drain your wallet completely from your hard-earned cash.

In any event, if you’re in the market of spending some moolah on something more grand, then we’d suggest taking a look at either the recently released HTC Amaze 4G or Samsung Galaxy S II T-Mobile.

T-Mobile myTouch & myTouch Q by LG are officially priced at $80 - arriving November 2nd

We know they’re coming, but up until now, neither LG nor T-Mobile were willing to spill the beans regarding the T-Mobile myTouch and myTouch Q’s release dates and pricing. Thankfully though, they managed to seemingly answer all questions in one quick swoop as they announced the good news today.

Already, we know that the HTC Radar 4G will become available nationally on November 2nd, but now you can also add LG’s T-Mobile myTouch and myTouch Q to the list. Interestingly, both Android powered smartphones are sporting the same affordable pricing, which will cost prospective owners $79.99 on-contract after a $50 mail-in-rebate. Unless you really want need the power of a high-end phone, these two smartphones offer all the base essentials – but they’re packing one impressive price point to make them an easy buy.


On the surface, the two devices appear to be the same, but the T-Mobile myTouch Q actually sports a landscape style sliding keyboard – whereas, the T-Mobile myTouch is a complete touch handset. Whichever you decide to go with come November 2nd, the saving you’ll get buying either of them can be spent on something else.

T-Mobile announced today that it will launch the HTC Radar 4G on November 2nd. The Windows Phone Mango device will be priced at $99.99 following a $50 rebate and your signature on a 2-year contract. According to a leaked T-Mobile roadmap, November 2nd should be a busy day at T-Mobile locations as we also expect to see the launch of the LG Doubleplay and the Huawei Tallsome on the same day.

The HTC Radar 4G is equipped with a 3.8 inch WVGA S-LCD display with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor under the hood. 512MB of RAM is aboard with a 5MP camera on back capturing video at 720p. The .3MP front-facing camera is useful for self-portraits and video chat and powering the device will be a 1520mAh battery. It joins the HTC HD7 as the choices that fans of the platform have to choose from on T-Mobile.

November 19th leaks as T-Mobile's next "All-Hands" day

A leaked T-Mobile memo shows that store managers are being asked to make sure all sales staff is in on November 19th. The memo says that a large contingent of sales staff is needed to make the latest wireless internet services more accessible and affordable to customers of the nation's fourth largest carrier. The note tells managers to prepare for "increased store business and maximum sales coverage" on November 19th, and to change the schedule on the lightest days of the week before and after November 19th.

The last time the home office spread the word out to have "All-Hands" on deck in expectation of huge floor traffic was last month, in preparation for the Values Day 2011 sale on September 24th. This time, we haven't a clue. It could be one of those one-day blow out sales that T-Mobile is known for holding. Or perhaps the GSM version of the Samsung GALAXY Nexus will be launched on that date. After all, the latest speculation has Verizon releasing its version on November 10th which would give Big Red a 9 day exclusive on the first Ice Cream Sandwich flavored handset. While T-Mobile has not officially announced its intentions to carry the phone, there is a history between Nexus branded models and the carrier. Also, T-Mobile is one of the seven possible mobile operators for the Samsung GALAXY Nexus listed on the unit's sign-up page, as we reported.

While T-Mobile customers can dare to dream, don't start thinking Apple iPhone 4S. You can check with Siri if you want, but the previous word from the carrier is that it will not be offering the Apple iPhone this year.

This phone is more powerful than the AT&T version. It It has a bigger screen 4.52" compared to 4.27" of AT&T. Battery is 1850 mAh compared to the other one. Simply the best! Incredibly fast huge screen and great for surfing the internet. It has a great camera and video recorder and has absolutely no lag what so ever. For some reason, this phone didn’t get the processor like the other Samsung phones cause it didn’t support 4G or something like that. Although the Exynos processor is what makes a GSII, this is still a excellent phone and a great addition to T-Mobile’s lineup. As are ALL the GSII variants.
