Internal HDD iPhone Case

This case has been designed to resemble a 100GB PC ATA/IDE hard drive right down to the connectors. If not been made clear is the case is compatible with the iPhone 4S a well. But with the large cutout on the side, the 4S should fit without any problems.

This hilarious iPhone 4 case will guarantee that you win any dorkathon you choose to enter. The plastic case — which covers the back and sides of the phone — is shaped like a raw hard drive, complete with vendor sticker, fake screws and even SATA connectors.

It would probably work just as well as a sticker, but this case obviously offers extra protection, too. The design is almost ridiculously authentic, betrayed only by the little hole through which the iPhone’s camera can peek. I see this going one of two ways. If you are spotted by another nerd, they’ll love it. But if some normal person spies your case, they will probably assume that the back fell off your iPhone.

If you wan’t one, you’ll have to go on a search of your local novelty stores. The UK-based supplier, Thumbs-Up World, doesn’t sell direct. Instead, it appears these things are sold through high street stores, in the UK at least.

iPhone Latch & Lanyard, Supports Your iPhone While Capturing Movies And Photos

A new iPhone Latch & Lanyard concept designed to be used with the Gymbl Case is currently over on the Kickstarter website looking to make the jump from concept to production, and has been designed to help you take iPhone photographs with ease. We have featured a number of different solutions here on Geeky Gadgets that have been designed to aid stability and help you hold and control your iPhone movement when taking photographs. But none have been as small or as convenient as the iPhone Latch & Lanyard concept. Watch the video after the jump to see it in action. Gordon Fowler explains a little more about his concept.

“Held taut against your neck, the iPhone is steady when taking photos and when capturing video you can hold it steady or swing it through a smooth and graceful arc. You will be surprised by how much of a difference it makes. It’s also amazing how natural and secure it feels to do this with one thumb steadying the camera while the other is over the shutter and adjusting the settings. It works both left- and right-handed and in portrait as well as landscape mode.”

The iPhone Latch & Lanyard concept is now looking to raise $20,000 to help get the concept into production, so if you think its something you would use make a pledge for $15 to make sure you have one once it goes into production at the special Kickstarter introductory offer price.

Sparrow Mail App Lands On The iPhone And iPad

One of the best third party email apps on the Mac is called Sparrow, we heard recently it was headed to the iPhone, and Sparrow is now available from today on the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

Sparrow is a third party email application that comes with a range of features, and it offers iMAP support, with Gmail, Apple’s iCloud, Mobile Me as well as custom iMAP accounts.

Sparrow features a unified inbox, faces which adds your friends photos to their emails, and much more. We have only had a brief chance to test out Sparrow on the iPhone, but from what I have seen so far it looks like it may be almost as good as the Mac version.

Apple Planning New iPhone Design For Fall Of 2012?

According to a recent report by the BGR, Apple is planning to release a completely re-designed iPhone in 2012, and we won’t see the device around June or July of 2012, instead we will have to wait until the Fall of 2012. Apple launched the iPhone 4S in October 2011, so it would make sense for them to launch the new iPhone around the same time in 2012, I could be wrong on this but i would put money on it being called the iPhone 5.

BGR has learned a number of details surrounding Apple’s next-generation iPhone from a close source. For starters, we can now confidently say that Apple’s next iPhone will launch in the fall next year, around the same time that this year’s iPhone 4S launched. The next iPhone is expected to come with a slightly larger display of around 4 inches and it is also rumored to feature an aluminum casing similar to that of the iPad 2.

2012 iPhone First Predictions:

Apple’s iPhone 4S Headed To China In January?

Apple announced on Wednesday that iPhone 4S, its latest smartphone product, will be available in China and 21 other countries as of Jan. 13.

"Customers response to our products in China has been off the charts," Tim Cook, Apple's chief executive officer, said in a statement. He noted that with the launch in China next week, iPhone 4S will be available in over 90 countries and regions, making it Apple's fastest iPhone rollout ever. The iPhone 4S was launched in October last year.

Apple is scheduled to report its 2012 first fiscal quarter earnings on Jan. 24. As one of Apple's biggest revenue sources, the iPhone 4S sales are seen key to the results. In the last quarter, Apple missed projections from the Wall Street as customers had been awaiting the launch of iPhone 4S. Last October, Apple announced that it had sold more than four million units of iPhone 4S, just three days after the launch. Analysts have been giving rosy estimates on iPhone 4S sales for the first quarter after it hit the stores, saying that the company could have sold more than 30 million iPhones during the period.

The iPhone 4S, which looks the same as the iPhone 4, has major hardware upgrade inside, including a faster chip, a higher- resolution camera and Siri intelligent voice control.

Knock-off iPhone 4 a Hit in China:

iPhone 4S Launch And BlackBerry Trade Ins

Recently over half of the planet lost their BlackBerry connectivity because of a hardware failure somewhere in RIM’s inner workings. This connectivity loss lasted for days and this meant days where BlackBerry users found their smartphones all but useless. RIM has finally managed to stabilize its infrastructure and with it has come the fallout and the counting of the cost of this catastrophe. This cost could be considerable according to trade in company Gazelle who claim to have received a record number of BlackBerry handsets.

RIM did try to sweeten the blow to its customers by offering them $100 worth of free premium apps. The problem really couldn’t have come at a worse time as it just so happened that the Apple iPhone 4S launch was in full swing. The media was all over this launch and BlackBerry owners instantly tuned into the potential of the iPhone as RIM’s network fell apart. In the space of a few days RIM was seeing a massive loss. Gazelle stated that they have no doubts that this is the reason for the influx of BlackBerry trade ins. This is the highest volume of BlackBerry trade ins they have ever seen.

Whether or not RIM can recover from such a massive outage remains to be seen but with customers leaving the platform in droves how long will it take before all they have left is their select business customers.
