Futulele Transforms Your iPad And iPhone Into A Digital Ukulele

We have featured a number of different devices here on Geeky Gadgets that use Apple devices to create guitars and instruments. But an innovative instrument called the Futulele, now use both an iPad and iPhone to create a digital version of the classic Ukulele. The Futulele has been designed as an iPad application which can be used on its own with on just one iPad. But a case is also available which then combines both iOS devices together. Watch the video after the jump to see the Futulele is action.

Once combined into the Futulele case the iPad tablet is used to strum while the iPhone is used to select the chords required. The Futulele has been created by Amidio and is at the moment just a prototype concept.

The Futulele can be used to create up to 12 chords for each song and enables you to change chord sets on the fly if required. Amidio is now looking for assistance from a manufacturer to help the Futulele make the jump from concept to production. To tell the truth, the device composition looks so obvious that we’re wondering why no-one has thought of this before, but still – this is a completely new way of producing music with iOS devices.

Introducing Futulele, the Ukulele app for the iPad and the iPhone:

Chinese iPhone 4S Clone Comes With Android 4.0 ICS

We thought we’d give readers a strange thing to contemplate today so how about an Apple iPhone 4S running Android ICS 4.0. Well, of course this is not the real thing, rather an iPhone 4S lookalike that has been brought to our attention but we thought it was interesting enough to share with you.

Although the iPhone 4S is now officially released in China it hasn’t stopped the usual Shanzai brigade coming up with their own versions. This clone iPhone 4S certainly looks the part and whether it’s intended to deceive, or merely an option for those who don’t want to pay iPhone prices, it certainly gives the iPhone a twist to see it running Android instead of iOS, especially the recently released Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. However this particular ICS appears to have been skinned so that it looks closer to iOS.

This clone iPhone 4S was brought to our attention by Ubergizmo and to be fair the phony iPhone not only looks pretty convincing but it also has at least a few similar specs, although certainly not all. For instance it has the same sized screen as the iPhone 4S with the same resolution of 960×640 and cameras front and rear. It also has a 7227-T HTC Touch processor, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage and also WCDMA 3G technology. There’s even built-in Vlingo voice assistant to rival Apple’s Siri. However it is slightly lighter weighing in at 114g though we don’t think many would deduce it was a fake just because of the weight.

After seeing this iPhone 4S clone running Android 4.0 ICS it has made us wonder. If the internal specs were in fact a match for Apple’s iPhone could this be a dream device for many? We think there could be a lot of people who’d like the specs and looks of the iPhone 4S but running the Android OS and it would be interesting to hear what you think about this so why not send us your comments.

iPhone 4S - Six Weeks Later:

iPhone 4S boasts a 96% satisfaction rate among owners

Apparently the iPhone 4S is the best iPhone yet, according to its adopters. ChangeWave Research released a report on a recent customer satisfaction survey today that shows 77% of respondents said they were “very satisfied” and 19% said they are “somewhat satisfied” with their iPhone 4S. The combined 96% satisfaction rate of the iPhone 4S is the highest iPhone approval rating to date.

iPhone 4S owners were also asked what features they liked best. Siri took the top spot, followed by ‘ease of use’, and the 8-megapixel camera. Since nothing is perfect, owners were also asked what they disliked the most about their iPhone 4S. The number one complaint was that the battery life is too short, closely followed by the lack of 4G capabilities.

When looking deeper into owner’s experiences with reduced battery life, only 8% said it was a ‘very big problem’ and 20% said it was ‘somewhat of a problem.’ It is worth noting, however, that this survey was taken before the iOS 5 update that addresses battery life issues. As far as dropped calls are concerned, iPhone 4S owners are reporting a 2.5% dropped call rate in comparison to the 5.2% rate that was reported by iPhone 4 owners last year. Overall this improvement to dropped calls is primarily because of the addition of Verizon customers. The AT&T dropped call rate for the iPhone 4S is 4.1%, which the same device on Verizon only has a 1.3% drop rate.
