The 21 new countries now offering the iPhone 4S either through Apple’s own online stores or through carrier parties are: Bahrain, Brazil, Chile, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Morocco, Peru, the Philippines, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam.
Brazil is the country where buyers will have to fork out the most cash and the reason for this is the huge import tax that is being placed on devices such as smartphones. The price of the iPhone 4S through Apple’s Brazilian online store starts at the equivalent of $1410 for the 16GB model and goes up to $1845 for the 64GB model. In the US people are paying $649 for the 16GB and $849 for the 64GB unit. This is a massive price difference and hopefully the decision to build some of Apple’s inventory in Brazil itself will help to reduce the costs.
People in Russia are paying really high prices too and these work out at $1131 to 41350 which again is a big difference when compared with American prices. It seems that jailbreak hacker p0sixninja of the Chronic Dev Team has announced that five userland exploits have been discovered for the iPad 2 and it seems that this is strongly expected to be used in the next generation iPhone too which means a jailbreak could be imminent.
This news was revealed at the jailbreaking convention MyGreatFest. P0sixninja gave the announcement in which he stated that the iPad 2 and iPhone 5 can be jailbroken using five userland exploits which have been discovered over time. It is amazing that five exploits have been discovered and what is even better is that all these exploits are userland ones. P0sixninja has this to say, “it’s the record breaking number of exploits found.”
The userland exploits that have been discovered are all related to software. Hardware based exploits can be patched but a hardware revision is going to make any difference in this case. This is great news and it means that the iPhone 5 and iOS 5 should get an untethered jailbreak sooner than expected. The exploits were discovered by the Chronic Dev Team and since the jailbreak that is expected to be announced soon will be userland, it will work on all iOS devices and on all exploit ready iOS versions. This could mean that we will see an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5 when the official launch is announced.
This is really great news and all the Chronic Dev Team are waiting for is the new iPhone 5 itself to see whether the exploits work or not. Let’s hope it’s good news as we’re sure the entire jailbreak community will be waiting for this.

Since the release of the iPhone 4S every hacker available has been trying to get Siri to run on all iDevices. They have also proven that it is possible but that because Siri needs to talk to Apple’s servers and the authentication that it requires it has been difficult for it to make its way into the public domain.
Thanks to a new jailbreak tweak by developer Eric Day you can now get half of the Siri experience. The new app which is called Siri0us is available to download from Cydia and won’t cost you anything if you don’t mind having a few adds thrown into the process. Well users won’t get the actual Siri integration but they will get the Nuance powered dictation feature. This tweak really does work and if you have been waiting to talk to your iPhone but just don’t have the money to upgrade to the iPhone 4S then this could be a great app to get.
One word of warning – some users have reported issues when trying to install this tweak, and if you’re device keeps on respringing there is a fix at hand. The developer has noted a bug that some may run into when trying to install. If your iDevice keeps respringing, do not restore!
